I was born and raised on a little plateau in the middle of the island of O'ahu. I, along with my father and brother, own and run a towing business. My family is very involved in canoe paddling--it's a sport that lasts all year round. I am the jock strap of this family--the athletic supporter. Paddling is not a hobby...it's a way of life. I prefer to paddle on a stand up paddle board or in a one-man canoe. I don't have a competitive bone in my body so stand up paddling works out for me. I like to do something for the sheer enjoyment of it with no pressure added. :-) Like reading. Which I do a LOT of while waiting between races.
I like to think of myself as creative as I enjoy tole painting, rubber stamping and scrapbooking. I haven't bought a card for any occasion in the last 13 years. All of my cards and invitations are hand-made with lots of love put into each one. I recently taught myself how to knit, which was something on my "bucket list" I can now cross off.
I don't think I can ever remember a time that I haven't read. My mom used to have to tell me to go out and play. I try to vary my reading genres and am always open to reading referrals. I love to read...Reading Rocks!!!!
