Welcome to the Paging All Bookworms! Reading Challenge! Looking forward to talking books with you!
thanks for the request nita! happy late new years
lol i was holding this book at work today debating on buying it or not.. weird yo.
Yeah, I'm mostly into Fantasy/Sci-fi. That's basically all I read, along with Fairy-tale/lore/mythology type books. I LOVE Neil Gaiman/Terry Pratchett. I'm really into Chuck Palahniuk right now. Oh, I've heard of the Vlad Todd series. Is it any good? Hmm, I don't really have a favorite series. I read the Mortal Instruments trilogy lately, and that was pretty good though. So have any plans for New Years?
New Year
by Ella Wheeler Wilcox
MORTAL:
"The night is cold, the hour is late, the world is bleak and drear;
Who is it knocking at my door?"
THE NEW YEAR:
"I am Good Cheer."
MORTAL:
"Your voice is strange; I know you not; in shadows dark I grope.
What seek you here?"
THE NEW YEAR:
"Friend, let me in; my name is Hope."
MORTAL:
"And mine is Failure; you but mock the life you seek to bless. Pass on."
THE NEW YEAR:
"Nay, open wide the door; I am Success."
MORTAL:
"But I am ill and spent with pain; too late has come your wealth. I cannot use it."
THE NEW YEAR:
"Listen, friend; I am Good Health."
MORTAL:
"Now, wide I fling my door. Come in, and your fair statements prove."
THE NEW YEAR:
"But you must open, too, your heart, for I am Love."
Lol, aw. I use to read online like crazy but it messed with my eyes too much, so now I try to refrain from that. It doesn't bother you? I'm good, thanks. A bit bored, about to read Neverwhere for a bit then sleep. It's 1:39 AM. Geez, I feel so old going to bed so early. So, who is your favorite author? Favorite book/series?
