    4 stars
Simmons’ sometimes whimsical approach to delivering the message
of salvation is anchored by opportune scriptures. The author boldly tackles issues like abortion, child abuse and anger toward God, adeptly guiding readers into romance, reconciliation and restoration as this novel flows effortlessly from haunting pasts to delectable happiness.
SUMMARY: Steeped in his African heritage, Parke is seeking his queen. His neighbor Cheney is supposedly too tall and independent for him, but he’s smitten anyway.
Parke commits his soul to helping Cheney defeat her personal demons as
a nosy, elderly neighbor proves to be a bridge between what we see on the outside, affairs of the heart and, ultimately, our relationship with Christ. (Urban Christian, Sep., 360 pp., $14.95)

    Hi Tom,
I first heard of you guys on Fanstory. I was excited to write a story for the contest to win entry into your short story anthology. I'm not sure if I'll have time to write that long of a short story but I will be submitting a synopsis for your perusal for sure. Good luck in your venture!

    Hi Tom:
As part of my month-long virtual book tour, today's special treat is an excerpt from my new bestseller Whale Song, a novel that will change the way you view life...and death.

So drop by my host site, sit back with a cup of coffee and enjoy the prologue and first chapter.

    I ONCE FEARED death.
It is said that death begins with the absence of life. And life begins when death is no longer feared. I have stared death in the face and survived. A survivor who has learned about unfailing love and forgiveness. I realize now that I am but a tiny fragment in an endless ocean of life, just as a killer whale is a speck in her immense underwater domain...

    Read the excerpt.

Thanks for your note on the self-publishing discussion. I certainly agree that self-publishing has its place, and that all writers should be very careful if they choose a POD publisher. Research, research!

Although I initially chose to go that route, it was because I wanted to prove my books sell. And they do. And I've proven it. And now I'm traditionally published. :)

By the way, Legend Press sounds great and I wish you every success.

By the way, do you accept queries from Canadian authors? :)
