Alice Sebold gives good first line. (The first line of her book is heart stopping.) But I have to say, I'm tired of reading about mentally ill people and how they screwed up their family's life. Still it's a captivating book, though not quite as good as "The Lovely Bones."

If you like Greek mythology you'll enough this light romp of Greek gods down on their luck - but still up to their old tricks - in 21st century London. But if you're not into Greek mythology, I'm not sure you'll get the jokes. Still a good effort by first time author Marie Phillips who blogs at StrugglingAuthor.blogspot.com.

How the British upper crust do divorce and romance. If you like navel gazing neurotics, get this book. But otherwise, don't bother. I'm tired of reading books where everyone is gorgeous, rich, and screwed up. How is it that the characters don't have to worry about paying the bills, getting fat, or getting an STD (though Daisy does get pregnant accidentally - twice.) And why is everyone so good looking and all the men flock to neurotic Daisy. I haven't a clue, but it isn't how things happen in the real world and the book isn't funny enough to suspend belief.

I got the pocket sized version to keep in my purse when I'm waiting in line at the store or at school. Now I finally have an excuse to read it!
