Oh, Mr. Cat I was distressed to see that you have removed me as a friend. Was it something I said?????? You know.....I was there at the moment of your assumption of your moniker. I guess you never guessed my TRUE identity. I think you might have guessed by now who I am. Have you? One final hint....."What was the poet, Mr. Thomas, first name? I've all but told you now. By the way, you just keep getting better and better looking.

Hmm..Rusty. :) I didn't notice your note at once. Rusty reminds me of the reddish brown earth, of the clay we used in my highschool years to create pottery, of the red color slowly blending with the water as seen from the crystal clear exterior of a glass, of a creaking gate of a deserted house, of the colors of some leaves in autumn, of my favorite purse...

    How's that! :D

For a writer, Rusty is a bit informal...I thought it was Richard or Richmond or Robespierre or Rainsford or... But it's a good name, he!he!

Somewhere we commented about Jack Keroak's "On the Road", or, one of his I hadn't read yet. Anyway, My kids love all these & Beat writers, too, so I was super happy to get "GONZO", {VERY GOOD} on Hunter S. Thompson, as a present for my daughter & her man on the birth of their first son, Reznor!! [As in Trent Reznor from the band Nine Inch Nails. His middle name is Cavalera - another band. It's like if I'd have named my sons Santana Clapton or Jimi Lennon!] ~~~Now back to my textbooks~~~

Ahhhhhh, the fuzzy warmth of the blanket of friendship now covers me. Thank you. And have you ventured a guess to the authorship of the poem? It's down deep in your gray matter I'm sure.

Wisdom doth, with its weak embrace,
raise the mind to the lofty place.
Where all the world looks small and good,
from frothy sea to leafy wood.
From this perspective the globe is round,
while far below the baying hounds
Still snap their teeth in search of meat.
Those growling curs, those hairy beasts.
    But wisdom's soft alluring voice
whispers this lie, "You have a choice"
But I know the world's not caught within
    my sagging, wrinkled, aging skin.
And siren's song when heard up close
Sounds so different from the distant notes
Where such a promised beauty sung
From 'cross the moat of my dungeon
Where life is kept by eating hopes
And I fear these days that I will choke
On yester's stories that bite my brain,
"I think I can", the wretched refrain
Why, oh why did I lose my sight
Tell me now the way to fight
These demons come to sup with me
Through pointed teeth they say I'm free
To do as I will without remorse
No need of a rudder to plot this course
    From destination, departure becomes
I have no rest, I can only run
Rodent, me, in the spinning wheel
Has long forgotten how to feel

There is a big cupie doll if you can guess the author of this. You will need to trek the ruptured synapses of your buried memories, though. But then, it's always like that, isn't it? Good luck, and thanks for playing.

Dearest sir..thanks for that thoughtful message. :) Well, the picture was taken about two years ago but my features haven't changed much since then, ha!ha!ha! I'm 28 now and been teaching in college for about seven years. My field's English--I teach basic communication, writing, research, literature, and other related courses.
