Just saw your note from Dec. 6th. We are back and Australia was awesome. Lots of fun and really beautiful.
glad you liked the Jim Butcher book. I am on like my 8th or 9th by him. I'll check out "The Pillars..."
Hope all it well with you guys. We're just trying to get ready for the baby - its pretty crazy for sure. I can picture it, but it still freaks me out a little bit. I can' t wait. Lindsey is doing great. She looks awesome and is feeling great. Man, I guess I'm really a grown up now. Yikes! Talk to you soon. PV

Hi from Robyn STEIN! Thanks for the invite - never saw this site before. I've been trying to tear myself away from the gossip mags so here I am.

I liked all the Foundation books, but as they go on there are times when they seem like histories. They're interesting, but can be dry at times.

If you're looking for something new let me recommend a few different things:

The Well World Saga by Jack Chalker (I read this a while ago, but I still think about it all the time.)

The Warden Diamond Series by Jack Chalker (Another series I love by this guy)

The Dresden File by Jim Butcher (about a modern day wizard/private eye. I've been eating these up lately. they're fun, smart, havea sense of humor and do a good job of combining the supernatural with the sort of noir detective stuff)

Hope you enjoy some of these.

    Best,
    PV

    hey!
secret was good. some of the stuff... i.e. make a million dollars type stuff...can be kind of over the top but i will tell you this, it works! it keeps you positive and you do attract great things to yourself and family. and it works for parking spaces! (helpful here as you know)
overall, it's a bunch of stuff you already know all in one book. it's totally worth reading.

Improv, of course! People raise their hand, say their name. We listen and respond. Some talk, some don't. I do research to prepare and try to have some answers or at least informed opinions. Wine and beer help, too. You'll have to try a visit sometime. 2nd Tues of every month. But, yeah, read Water for E. by Aug 14 or at least check our forum after you are done. Feel free to post any Qs or comments on it. I am waiting to read the Harry Potters to my boys when they are older. I am seeing the films and have read the first book, but don't have the fever for it as much of the reading world. Enjoy, though.

I have an audio copy of Carter to check out here at some point. Actually got interested in reading that after doing Devil in the White City, or at least reminded of it. Sounds great. We are on our 40th book for the club. Only women in yours, huh? Typical...;) we are about 60/40 female/male in ours and usually pull about 60-70 people in the theater for it.
