I am a 48 year old male from Scotland and a writer myself, though not very successful so far but it is something that i enjoy and so will continue providing tales that hopefully, others will like. I have two children; a gentlemans family so to speak (a boy and a girl) I write of many things but predominant in my stories I (mainly) talk of the the wilds of Scotland and its dark deep past where reality and mystism combine in a fuge of possibilities allowing no singular reality. Where standing stones and ancient forests, mountains and hill forts hold sway over the land of my birth accepting no particular reality or time.
I also write romances, which i am very fond of, and there tends to be a romance of some sort in every book that i have ever released though the only ones that could be specificaly put in that bracket are; "Twisted Sisters" and "A Shiver". I think of all my stories, tales and novels as romances, no matter the genre or subject matter; they will allways have that feel to them, it is rare that i write anything no matter how complex or surreal (for i have been accused of that) that misses the category of " A Romance" No matter what the subject matter is, be it a ghost story, a historical novel, a horror, a discursion upon time or humanity; with me it is always a romance.
Raymond Walker is the author of five novels, two compendiums of short stories and a book of poetry.
He was born in 1962 and raised in Argyll before moving to Edinburgh to attend university.
His love of the countryside, forests, mountains and the relics of his native Scotland are reflected deeply in his writing. His tales echo the dark past and history, the unknown places and wonders of Scotland at the point where reality dips into fantasy until nothing is quite as it seems.
Never bound by genre his books range from romances and ghost stories to historical fiction and fantasy. He is the winner of several writing competitions and his books have recieved critical acclaim worldwide. He currently resides in Prestwick, Scotland and is working on two new novels; "A pale shadow creeps" and "feathers" both of which will be available soon and complete the KIlmartin trilogy started in "A Shiver". Additionaly he is also working on a second volume of the criticaly acclaimed "A River of Tears".
