This is another book that goes into my favourites.

    It is ZEN!

Never ignore / pick it up thinking It's a story of Gautama Buddha or a discourse on Buddhism, It is neither of these yet, is as close to Nirvana as you can ever get through words... Om

Story of a person born in a family of Vedic brahmins, pupil of a legendary guru and a friend of a king.
He leaves home and family to quench his thirst for travel. In the guise of a man seeking education at Varanasi, he travels with a Caravan but, actually sent by the king as an agent, to know the secrets of trade. He reaches Madhura. His journeys and explorations from thereon is not to new places and not to learn trade but to be at peace with himself. His journeys as an actor, finding new love, his explorations of Yoga, Tantra, Buddhism start here.

Bhyrappa cleverly explores the historic events through the character that he has created.

Very educative, very clear. Dispels some common myths/misconceptions regarding wildlife and conservation.
This book shows his clarity of thought and authority in the area of conservation & field biology.

This book just popped up in a talk over chai. I'd heard of it earlier but, when my friend shared me a pdf copy of this book, I started reading it without even seeing who the author is. It turned out to be a nice book.

It is a Quality read. A good piece of art, a road trip narration of philosophy blended with life (though I may not totally agree with everything said).

It gave me a definition of 'dharma' that I can use. Dharma the virtuous path, the quality path. I recommend this book Highly. Very contemporary even after 3 decades of it being written.

A wonderful book. I'll read these stories to my daughter when she is big enough to listen.

A "follow your heart" fantasy. Has a few pickings, if you have wandered too far away from your heart. Don't try to read it like a bible.

I read it a long time ago and I guess I had not taken too long to finish this book.

One of the best books I have read (in any language). Bhyrappa's treatment of the great epic Mahabharata is impressive. He makes Mahabharata very human & realistic. It seems like he has visited that age when he narrates. His characters are more human than otherworldly. I read it in Kannada. I love it. I'll read it again.
