Books have been my magic all my life. They are my door to the world, and my wings to enchantment and utopia. I was blessed with parents that had all walls lined with bookshelves, and free access to all the books given to me and my siblings. Mom and Dad were of the mind that if a book captured our interest, then by all means read it, and if it...more »

Really neat book shelf. I can relate to your comment on books being your friend and how hard it is to part with even a bad book.

I didn't start really reading any books until I was 18 after I graduated from HS. I was in low reading and never had the opportunity to a lot of the classics. Someone introduced me to Danille Steele (of all people - authors of which I cannot tollerate) and I started reading a lot of her books. Then after college and birth of my twins I met some people that were in a book group. I joined because I didn't know where to start (or who to start reading. The first book I read in the bc was Alias Grace. That Margarett Atwood really knows how to weave a story! Better than 600ct =)....So Aliace Grace has a special spot in my heart. You may be interested in her other novel, Orex and Crake where one of the characters tries to re-create a new evolution of the human spiecies after some apocoliptic event. I quickly realized that I love a good book that the climax is at the end of the story. Hence, Midwives is another great book. I loved Their Eyes were watching God! A great empathetic book about family relations and slavery from the perspective of a young slave girl. So anyway, I love reading books but I get frustrated that I read so slow! I'll keep plugging away. Have a great day today!

Thank you for the invite . . . I love your profile, you write so engaging . . . I also keep all of the books I have read. When I have a favorite I keep a few on hand, just in case someone needs to read it :). I haven't had the time to list all of my books, but hope to do so soon. I have enjoyed your thoughts in the Goddess Group and look forward to hearing more. Enjoy your day!

Ohhh sorry to hear about your big chill today. I hope you feel too badly when I tell you we had 70 degrees and sunny in HR. I guess we're just a lot closer to the desert. It's always wonderful though to have an excuse to curl up by the fire and read a tasty tome! I was able to read at the park while my little guy played.
