Hi there, Raspberrymocha! I saw your discussion question about finding Fannie Flagg's "Redbird Christmas" in hardback. I had made a blanket statement to everyone about checking out ebay or half.com to find hard to find or out of print books but I checked on ebay about "Redbird Christmas" and found several of them in hardback. My husband and I have bought and sold many things on ebay and have had very good luck. Here's the link to the "Redbird Christmas" page. If it doesn't work, just go to books and type in the title. Good luck and I hope you enjoy the book...I did!

Forgive me for not responding sooner to your question. Family and work keep me very busy. If you haven't already read "Beloved", I recommend that you do. Toni Morrison writes in a way that if you pay close attention you will see that her books of fiction kisses the face of the past. Be aware that this book foreshadows several events from the past, the slave ships, slavery, and the ultimate sacrafice a mother could possibly make; give my babies up to slavery or send them to God. It is a very powerful book and it is a must read! If you feel that you are lost as to what Morrison is trying to convey in her book then perhaps some research on slavery could enlighten you further so that when you finish reading it you will take Morrisons' words and wisdom with you. Thank you for asking me about this book. I also recommend that you read all of Morrisons' books, they are wonderful reads!

I love the library. LOL The whole thing with the scret reader is we don't want people to go out and buy a new book, we know how strapped cash is! :)

Hi! I saw your question about In Cold Blood. I don't know if it's won anything or not. I may or may not get time to research that for you. I read it a while ago, so I don't recall details, but I'm sure it was a good book.

Howdy, I'm pretty anti-spoiler so I didn't want to respond directly to the post concerning "what's to cry about in The Time Traveler's Wife." Its pretty sad when Henry looses his feet don't you think? When he slips to and fro in time, its hard to argue thats not a big deal towards his preservation. And heck, if you want to call the ending uplifting, I suppose you could; focus on the beauty of such a loving bond between two people, ok. But uplifting just means they have to knock you down first. Either way, I thought it was a pretty emotional story ~ guess I'm a softy, or weird or something... See you around the shelves.

I'm not doing Lay It On, I did Tag it to the Max in July and August and was the winner. I decided to skip Lay it On and continue the 200 tags for Tag It to the Max. I get alot of chance to read because of my job and being alone, but busy season is coming which means lots more work less reading. LOL

In response to you question about "Beloved", my suggestion is...don't waste your time. I saw the movie years ago and was really wierded out. So then I read the book and still, I'm afraid I just don't get it. I also could NOT get in to "Confederacy of Dunces". There's lots of really good, make you think, books out there.
Good luck. I hope you find your literature soulmate! Let me know. I can also use another friend. Check out my shelf, if it looks interesting...let's buddy up.

"Beloved" is brilliant but very difficult. The plot is in puzzle pieces, all jumbled up. It's not for light reading.
