    Thank you! :-) A "cowcat"? Does that mean (s)he(?) is more white with black patches. That's just how I'm picturing what might be called a "cowcat"! I have never had an orange cat. I'm curious - are all your orange cats boys? I know they are more commonly male than female.

    I did the same regarding only putting books on my shelf that I have read since I joined shelfari. I have found though that I have gone back and read some books for the second time so that I could include them on my shelf. I see we like many of the same authors and dislike some of the same authors. One you might like is Barry Eisler and his Rain series. Happy Thanksgiving!!

    We don't do fruitcake, per se....but there is a great recipe in Naomi Judd's cookbook (NAOMI'S HOME COMPANION) for some cookies called TEXAS LIZZIES....very tasty...we've done them with whiskey.....and last year used rum..in some...... the recipe makes 9 dozen.....Apricot Brandy sounds good any time!...and that fruitcake sounds like it could walk out of the freezer on its own..*snort*

    oh wow! my Holiday Cookie/Candy marathon doesn't start until after Thanksgiving (i don't know who is going to show up this year...but i got a BIG roasting chicken this morning...if people come here to eat they know to "bring a dish"..)...and my one girlfriend has a separate Summer Kitchen for the cookie/candy thing...with a lock on the door so her kids can't steal the treats...it's her, myself, and two other gals...we do Fancy, Fudges,and Traditional.....for friends, a couple of churches pay us for the yummies..and we take trays to the local Nursing Homes...mostly we have fun baking and cussing and snorting the Christmas Bourbon (those chocolate Bourbon Balls (!) go over very well, let me tell you)...i don't do Christmas trees..there are enough in my yard...though i have a fake one upstairs..my boyfriend is trying to convince me to bring it downstairs this year..he has his work cut out...i have no Family in the area but my gal pals and i usually get together for a small Feast at least once in The Season....

    for now, the weather is too warm for my liking..i dread the flip-side....

    sounds like you have things well in-hand...my thoughts go with you & yours
