My Rating System
5 Stars- These are books that have in some way changed me, made me think, shaken me up or impressed me with the writing style. They are books I will read more than once (also, different standards for differnt genres apply here)
4 Star- Books that I enjoyed, they engaged me and took me for a great ride. I will recommend them to a friend
3 Star- Okay books. I recommend borrowing or checking out for a change of pace- but not at the top of my list
2 Star- I wouldn't read again. Or recommend. Or buy.
1 Star- an insult to my time
Mom of 3 boys, married 14 years- love to read. I will read about anything- but my least favorite is fantasy (a bit of sci-fi is okay) and my most favorite is good women's literature- if it makes me cry that is even better! I love it when a book surprises or shocks me.
If I am not reading I will kick back with my family, we love to travel and see new places. I love catching up on TV shows like LOST and Kid NAtion or So you Think You can Dance, and I love to scrapbook and take long naps.
If I want to splurge or just feel spoiled take me to PF Changs, a night at live theater, and have some chocolate on hand (my husband is good at these things).
I am seeing so many interesting shelves with amazing variety, so if I ask to be your Shelfari friend it is to keep track of your interesting shelf. I mean the invitation as a compliment to your taste in books! Happy reading!
swap your books 4 at a time at novleaction.com
the more join- the more choices ! :-) I have been a member almost a year and have enjoyed it so far, so I am spreading the word. I also use paperbackswap.com - which is straight across getting credit for a book when you send one. Very easy to use, and basicly free, because when you send a book someone will sned you a book. I love getting parcels in the mail!!!!
