Hi everyone! My name is Jen, I'm 33 years old and happily married, 5 years now. I'm originally from Georgia, but moved to Pennsylvania to be with my husband after we married. I actually couldn't finish this, I was bored to frustration. Maybe it was my mood, I'm not sure.

I'm completely addicted to this series and these characters. This book was a real treat for me, as I find Louis so fascinating. And Angel is a personal favorite of mine. I love that Connolly turned the focus to these two very intriguing characters.

An interesting twist on vampirism, here they are psychic vampires that have the ability to control people in any way that they wish, and boy do they. I enjoyed this one quite a bit, strong characters and some truly gruesome and frightening moments. Its a bit long and does drag at times, but overall, it works and is very effective.

The book is well written for the most part, and you can also tell a lot of effort went into it. I respect that. But it can also be tedious at times, and occasionally just seems to drag on and on. I think I would have enjoyed it more if it was a bit shorter.

Another gripping, fast paced read from Slaughter. Emotionally compelling, these are characters I care about, even when sometimes I don't always find them very likable (Lena is one of the most interesting, but infuriating, characters in the series). And the ending is both shocking and sad, especially for those that have been reading the series from the beginning.

I haven't read much Clegg, but I have heard good things. I had a bit of a hard time getting into this book right away, but once I did, it went pretty quickly, and I had fun with it. But it is highly derivative, and honestly I am not sure it shouldn't have been a bit longer, because the thrust into the horror of the house seems kind of abrupt and just doesn't flow particularly well. The build up and characterization is good at times though. And I hadn't realized when I starting reading it that it was a part of a series of books, maybe that has something to do with my mixed feelings about it. Overall, a decent effort.

Of King's more recent efforts, this is one of the better ones (along with Lisey's Story which I quite liked). Some of King's finest characters in a long time (along with a couple of completely forgettable ones). Still doesn't hold up to some of his earlier work, but a really good read though.

Not great, but a fun, quick read.

A dark book (darker than the film for sure) and a fine effort overall. There are some great ideas here, and I'm glad I read it. But, and this is unusual for me, I actually prefer the film. There is just WAY too much going on here at times.
