Sorry for the late reply, things have been going really fast around here lately. Soon I'll be in Louisiana.

Thanks for telling me about the books, they all sound pretty good. Yeah Ive noticed most YA books today are in series. In my opinion for some that's a good thing but for others it seems they keep dragging them out when really they should be ending. I have a theory it's a money thing, but then what's not these days? That's not to say that regular Fantasy hasn't been doing the same thing lately either.

Outlander by Diana Gabaldon? I have the audio of it on my ipod, just haven't started it yet. I'm hearing nothing but great things about it though. It seems to be a crowd favorite, so I'm looking forward to it. Are they making a movie of it?

Yeah, both the Dark Hunters and the Lords of the Underworld series deal in mythology. Personally, I think LotU gives a little clearer background of everything in their world, but then again I could just be biased as that is the series I am currently intune with.

Oh I am such a re-reader when it comes to my favorites! I have a problem letting go of books after I've read them because of this. I never know if the whim to reread an old story will suddenly hit me one night when I'm bored and not really looking to start something new. I think I've read the MacKade brothers quartet by Nora Roberts like 5 times in my life. It's one of my absolute favorites that I first read when I was like 14. LOL

They canceled Legend of the Seeker?! I only caught the first few episodes, but I liked it. I thought the lead guy was a hottie! :)

May was actually a really good reading month for me. In addition to the pnr I got in some good YA too. I read and loved Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson. It was dark and moody and a bit intense, but I really liked it.

Regarding the Percy Jackson series...like you, I want to watch the movie first. And that almost never happens to me! LOL Usually I am rushing to finish the book before the movie is released, but I didn't know anything about the books until the movie came out. And the movie looks good and managed to peak my interest of it's own merits.

Let me know if/when you get in to Dark Hunters. I'd love to know what you think. I somehow managed to get sidetracked and never did get around to reading book three. I got sucked into another series entirely. Have you heard of Gena Showalter's Lord's of the Underworld series? I'm making my way through that one as we speak. After this one though I really need to step away from the pnr for a while. LOL Maybe I'll read a nice modern day "human romance" when I'm done. LOL

    What are you currently tackling?

Well I do love Fantasy. Are the books you mentioned in any kind of series or are they stand alone books? Any other recommendations? :)

The marathon was a lot of work, but so much fun! I'm already planning for next year.

Girl my TBR shelf is slowly getting out of control! But I wouldn't have it any other way, at least I'll never get bored. :) The Iron King is perched happily atop my TBR shelf. ;) I will definitely hit you up for discussion once I've gotten to read it. Thanks for the new recommendations as well.

Fallen is another fallen angel story, however, this one started out slow so I pushed it back. A friend of mine finished it and said it was confusing and somewhat frustrating so I'm definitely not in any rush to finish it. The cover is lovely though! I'm a sucker for pretty covers.

I haven't been able to read too much lately, but I have managed to get myself sucked into Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter series. I just finished book two and made a mad dash to order book 3. lol Needless to say I'm quite enjoying it. :)

Hi Rae! Sorry I haven't been checking in lately. I was training for a marathon for the past three weeks so I haven't had any time to read or go online, but I'm back now. :)

Regarding Hush, Hush; I fully understand having certain topics that are off-limits or that just don't interest you. I have a few of those as well. While I enjoyed the story, let me just say that it was by no means a literary masterpiece so you're not really missing out on much by skipping it. :)

Well you've definitely piqued my interest in Liar! lol I've been reading so many 'light and fluffy' books lately that I could actually go for something with a dark and trippy theme. I've added it to my TBR shelf and will definitely let you know when I get to read it.
Hush, Hush was good but it had the potential to be great. I actually think the YA classification of it is what held it back. It could have used some more darker and sinister elements to it. There's a sequel in the works and I'm hoping the author pulls out all the stops on it.
