Nah, I'm in the transportation industry though I used to teach. Even then, I can find many ways to use the skills I've picked on on studying Lit. What are you doing?
Studying a book as a text is so much more different coz you will need to read between the lines. And there is always this thing in your head trying to pick up many things like how many times the colour yellow appear in a novel or a play. The funny thing is, what used to be a chore for me, turns out beneficial coz I now enjoy a book so much more. I am moving towards European history and not so much of books of the canon any more. I am waiting for my order for Queen Boudica from the book store. What about you?
Hi Raj, literature was my major in my Uni and A'level days. I am still practically in love with it.
leisure time?? Not much. I spend them for distributed proof reading work in Project Madurai (Tamil) and Project Gutenberg (English). My alma mater (Madras Inst. of Tech, Chennai alumni) consumes significant amount of time. Of course, on weekend if I find time, then go for long walking (usually around 10 or 11 Km)
