“A very interesting view on American culture of the 18th Century. The view of the book comes from a native Englishman, now living in the States, who is seemingly well versed in the arts. His argument is that America is a jumble of cultures and that it is trying to find where it belongs, culturally, on the world stage. The tone can be negative at times, but it is simply critical and objective when looking at the multitudes of mediums that make up a country's culture.”
