I am the author of "101 Ways Black Women Can Learn to Love Themselves: A Gift for Women of All Ages." I am also a Writer, former book buyer, poet, journalist, professor, and ph.d.

I write for a number of other Black magazines and newspapers around the country. I absolutely love what I do, including reading, writing, publishing, teaching great books, and sharing what's in my collection.

Currently, I'm editing a critical anthology on my friend and mentor, Sonia Sanchez. Also, finishing up a memoir.
