I love to read, I seek good information, I'm a true bklynite that loves to travel, and my book club is KARMA (what we put out is what we get back). karma consists of myself and two really good friends. We dont just have book meetings, there's fight nite, discussions, and outings. We usually draw a crowd of 15. I have a BA in psychology and yes I study people WELL. I have been a child abuse investigator for the past 5 yrs and is looking to change my career. I love it dearly but it is time to spread my wings. No children yet, but love them. I am a poet, actress, and good cook in my spare time. I like african american authors but will read anything good. I like books that make you think or change your thinking. I'm a huge fan of quotes like "get busy living or get busy dieing" from my favorite movie Shawshank Redemption, use it whatever way you like, it all means the same. I'm not a fan of urban fiction but will read one or two with a good story line. Reading for me is the escape, being single one has to take focus off the obvious and be free. That's what reading does, it's freeing and makes for a great conversation with those like yourself . Feel free to suggest some good readings.... « less
