'in borrowed words, i have realised,
space and time both curve around a woman's hip.

it is a staggering realisation, with undertones of extreme personal reevaluation.

This is an awfully late response to your note. I'm sorry, things have been pretty busy lately at the university.

Bjork? Haha, I think my avatar has unintentionally got you (or your friend) fooled. :) Maybe it's just the bangs? Although I like Bjork. And all her Icelandic eccentricity.

Why were your books stashed in cartons, by the way?

Ovid! Ever since I found an old Latin edition of "Metamorphoseon" at a furniture shop (?!), I've pondered which translation of it to acquire in English – with Ted Hughes you've got me a good starting point, many thanks! Off to compare reviews on amazon... Read "Paradise Lost" a few years ago, and the constant references to Ovid really piqued my interest. Will check out Sanskrit poetry for sure... Yes, the Klimt book is good, but is almost beaten by the exquisite Mucha volume! Been looking for a complete book on Mucha for years.

"Poems from the Sanskrit", wow, how's the translations on those? Are you able to read the originals? Well in that case you'd probably not listed the English edition but... I know there's probably no language more impossible to translate form than Sanskrit, with its endless variations/allusions/hints... like one word probably means one thing in the morning and something else at five o'clock tea. Have a nice day, hats off from Italy.

No, I haven't read it, but if you mention it, I guess it's interesting, I'll check it out.
No utopia for me these days, I'm reading girlie stuff-Lee Martin- An endless summer. It's pretty cool, but not extraordinary.

Beowulf. Strange how you stumbled upon my profile but I'm glad for the beautiful accident. I envy you for your book-endowed s(h)elf -- we seem to share the same tastes in literary, philosophical, and visual genius.
Ah, stale pizza is nice. I love stale pizza.

    I guess it's just stripy.
I'll read the book as soon as I can, now I'm stuck with another one, Us, from Evgheni Zamiatin, but I don't really reccomend it, it's a little soapy for my taste (talking about black utopias).

thanks for reminding me... a profile change was long overdue and i have been using alucard everywhere else but on shelfari. he seemed the logical choice. anywho,...yeah, been enjoying sleeping for more than two-three hours myself. actually, all i've been doing since getting outta coll is sleeping and reading and vice versa. i'm not even taking the whole looking for a post-grad option too seriously atm and time's running out. ah well, i'm sure i'll figure it out eventually. nah, haven't gone to egypt yet. u forgot tht the only way i was going to get it there would be if i met my mum's conditions which, of course, i haven't been able to do yet cos i'll only get my results in june. as for tht director, i didn't like him much to bother with names. he was asst director or sommat for Water and Pinjaar. and his poems..well, let's just say i'm not a fan. that's all for now. if i try to include any more random info shelfari'll kick me off for bugging their members. ciao da. ja mata ne.
