Prison Preacher’s last login was Saturday, June 22, 2013.
Hello Prison Preacher, I read Amazon has you as a member “with” James Scott Bell's "Deceived” on their shelf, so I’d like to recommend a collection of Legal Suspense / Thriller short stories, “Just Verdicts” - 3 Short Stories of Legal Suspense. ” It’s only 99 cents and a portion of the royalties goes to support Pine Valley Camp, a Christian Ministry that provides a free camp experience for inner city kids. Just Verdicts draws upon the author’s 25 years of law practice and his military background. Its not a vanity or self-pub book, but is published by Trestle Press, a small independent press outside of Philadelphia under its imprint, Helping Hands Press, that gave a Christian author a chance. Full disclosure - I wrote it and hope you’ll give it a chance. Best way to find it is to search my name on Amazon.

Hi Prison Preacher! I saw your post to another member who has downloaded the Kindle edition of my book: "GOD INSIDE THE FIRE: An Amazing True Story" on Amazon, and I wanted to offer it for your consideration. The story is unlike any you've ever read—I promise! It's a supernatural thriller told from the LIGHT side of the eternal realm, not the dark side, and the best news of all—the story is TRUE! May you be blessed by this impossible narrative and the wonderful confirmation of the power of God to answer ANY prayer, no matter the circumstance.
P.S. If you end up reading it, write a review for me, will you? — Thanks, Greg Stelley
Hello, thanks so much for the info. Yes your replies are great. I ordered the Partner so I look forward to trying it and will let u know. Which other Grisham books have u read and liked???? I ordered Rainmaker, the Client, The Partner, and the Runaway Jury. and the Testament..... I will also try Silva soon. Thanks so much for the info on him..
Thanks for stopping by Scott!! I have only read Blackstock's Restoration series. If I did not have so many books in my Plan To Read list, I would get more of hers. From the Restoration Series, she is one of my favorites. Others are Peretti, Dekker, Joel C Rosenberg, Jeremy Robinson, Graham Carter (not a well known Australian author), Kel Richards (another not well known Australian author), D. Brian Schafer, Gene Edwards, Bill Myers, Tim Downs, Sigmund Brouwer, Dere, P Gilbert.
There are more. But this list will go on and on!!
There are some great christian authors out there and their novels are just a great reflection of this. I wish I had more time to read them!! My list just gets bigger and bigger!!.
I saw a post of yours in the shelfari group and thought i'd peek at your shelf.. and I have to say I totally agree with Harve P's comment... Joel C Rosenberg books are amazing, fantastically written.. I'm itching to read the next one... wish he would hurry up! They are so much better than Left Behind, the political part really just brings a new aspect to it all...
Hey Scott, I loved "The Last Jihad", along with the others in the series. I would say Joel Rosenburg is a fantasic author, rate up in my top ten books of all time. Don't wait to read them, you won't be able to put them down. They are not so much like the Left Behind, but do follow escatology - it may start out slow but speeds to a great pace thru-out all the books.
Karin just got her shelf started, you should be able to find her from my shelf. Tim Downs - excellent! I've read all of his books. I truly enjoy his charcter, Nick. I down't want him to end. Great series. Not all of Tim's books are excellent but a good author and I like his style. I would start with Sho-fly Pie. The Nick Pollanski series.
I've read Terri Blackstock's Last Light series. I truly enjoyed those. A simple read but a very exciting story. You'll have to ask karin about her other books. I haven't gotten to read any other of her books.
I do have some great suggestions as far as christian fiction are concerned. If you are interested, you might check my favorites on my shelf as well.
Thanks Scott for the note. Talk to you later.
If you like mystery then I don't think Vince Flynn or Brad Thor books would be for you. They are more like the Bourne series, covert, undercover assassins, special operators, etc. Not the military mercenary types, but very much like the Jason Bourne type (undercover, mysterious, blending in, etc.). If you like that then YES these two authors are for you.
I don't read much mystery books. James Rollins books are a bit mysterious and unpredicable. If you like murder mystery then I strongly recommend Harlan Coben and Michael Connelly books. Both great authors.
I will indeed try Silva. What starter book do you recommend for him?
Wow, how cool! I did sit down and hand put in all the books I had, and then all the ones I read. It was quite a job, but in the end well worth it. Now it's easy to just do one at a time as I read them or purchase them. I have so many to read. I'm big on buying used books from library, so I own many I have yet to read. I also like the wish list. Now when I hear of a book I'm interested in, I can add it to the list to pull up any time I want to.
