i started reading this because it is considered to be the first modern erotic english book and asked myself 'common, year 1748, how erotic can this be?' i got my answer: 'very.'
beautifully written, it deserves 5 stars.

this book is beyond words! i, for one, have never read anything like this before. you have to pay attention to every part, paragraph, sentence, word to fully understand. indeed, it's not an easy read, but it's worth every word of it!

When you know that all the things written in this book have happened, you just can't believe that they are true. A thorough book explaining all that there is to know about Auschwitz, the cruelty of the Nazis and the suffering that the people have endured.

A naive American girl who is thought to be very, very smart and beautiful and whatever, goes to England and has the opportunity to marry a lord and a fellow American, but she chooses to marry an American who has a 16-year old daughter. Her marriage is not a happy one, her cousin dies and the ending is ambiguous... now, would someone please tell me what is the point of reading such an interesting 550-paged book with this subject?
