I am so blessed to have Jay as my husband. I know that I am loved and cared for and I try to pass that feeling on to our children. God has a plan for our lives and despite all of the uncertainty of military life we have peace and hope in Him.
My free time seems limited these days but I make a daily effort to spend time with God in prayer and... more »

I am so glad for you that your husband is finally coming home. I hope this is for good this time. I'm sure you and the kids have really missed him and he, you. My "best friend" (I don't know what else to call him :)) has a son in the AF. He was in Iraq from Aug to Nov and is now in FL in training to go back to Iraq after the new year. They are expectiing their first child in April. I thought of you when I got that news. Again I'm so happy for you and have a really Merry Christmas/ Hannuaka / whatever you celebrate. :)

I'm so glad things are going well for you with your husband deployed. That must be tough. A friend of mine has a son in Iraq and his other son is deploying after the first of the month sometime. Both are Air Force. The son of another friend is in the reserves and has been called up for his second tour. He is also leaving after the first of the month. It's got to be tough. The Reservist's father was in the ARmy reserves and served in Iraq for 16 months. He is now retired now.

This weekend I'm moving. I will finally have a home! Yeah! I had been living with and caring for my father who is now in a nursing home. His house was sold to pay the bill and I've been living with a friend since July while waiting on this house to be ready. With my son in college, this will be the first time in 20 years I've lived alone. I have mixed emotions, but am ready to get on with my life.

Do you have any special plans this weekend? If you need ANYTHING while your husband is deployed, I'm here for you. You are a temporary single parent and I know what that's like. I have 20 years of experience as one. (I left my son's father when I was 5 months pregnant because he didn't want a child and forced me to choose.)

Don't worry about it. I've been on here so sporadically this summer that I'd not noticed and I don't offend that easily anyway! lol. My study of Acts is going pretty good. I'm not as consistent as I'd like to be. Some days I do a chapter and other days I might read and study 3-4.

How has your summer gone? I bet it's been somewhat hectic with a second child? How is Joseph reacting to a new sis this summer? Kids are special!

Hi I just joined your group and I noticed on your shelf that you had several books about Walt Disney. Were they good? I am a Disney fan and my favorite vacation is Walt Disney world.

Hey Lady! Wanted to recommend The Shack to you. It's a book that is a fun, easy read as a fictional Christian book. It will challenge your views and perceptions on God and what a relationship with God truly is. Hope you are doing well and maybe we'll be able to get together in August when I return from my trip!

I am so happy for you. There is nothing in the world as precious as a new baby. I have enjoyed everyone of them I have ever seen. I don't know what the book is about that is the planned read. Jaxson is here so I just get little snippets on the computer. My grandchildren are all well. Tess is the one who will have her first baby. She goes tomorrow for her ultra sound. We are all excited. There are already too many going with her so I will have to be satisfied with a picture. Are you having any flooding there? It's getting bad on some of the rivers and lakes. The family have all been to check on their houses. So far they are all safe. The house Mama lived in at Cove Creek for over 15 years is in danger of being flooded. I want to go see it soon even though she lives in Morrilton now. Let me know when you have your baby. I will be praying for both of you. Doylene

I don't think I've ever seen a car that runs on vegetable oil. That's funny about the smell. Have you ever been anywhere you couldn't get fuel? This is my day with the two little ones. I always have so much fun with them. I asked my four year old, Adi, if she had learned anything about Jesus in church Sunday. She told me yes, that he fell off a boat into the water and was swallowed by a big fish. So I had the opportunity to tell her the story of Jonah. I know you must be so excited about the baby. I hope you are feeling well.

Amanda, I hope I haven't offended you by something I wrote. I was hoping in a few week we could get together at the lake house with all our children and get to know your family. We would very like to make you feel at home with us. Let me know if you would like to do something like that. We are all respectable people and Christians. We have a ski boat, and four of those power skies and a large paddle boat. If you ever want to go I'll send a map. it's at Greer's Farrier . Just let me know.
