I am an avid reader, normally reading between four to five books at a time. I tend to prefer modern lit, poetry and mystery, however lately I've had a love affair with religious and spiritual books, mostly dealing with Buddhism. I also love books that deal with other cultures or are set in other countries (especially if they're written by an author FROM that culture/country!)

To put it more poetically:
I love the written word. I love the sound of words, the feel of them. I love the way books envelop you, bring you in and change your worldview. Since I was a child I've read and been read to. Today I read to my husband, he reads to me and it brings us closer together. Words are what brings us together and has created our culture. « less
