Hey, Janet! No, I'm not going to the Grove Bowl. Tonight is girls' night in movie night. :-) Supper, a bottle of wine and a movie, which one yet to be figured out. And yes, I am really enjoying the Fever books. I've got the first two of the BDB on tap too. I'm so eager to get started in those, I'm tempted to change horses in the middle of the stream! LOL I've been such a slug this winter, but at least I've gotten a lot of reading done. :-)

Hey! Looks like you've been making a dent in your reading list. :-) Good for you! Lord knows there's not much else to do with the weather like it's been - the winter that won't go away. Personally, I cannot wait for some warmer weather! How's your son? My younger is graduating (high school) in May. What did you think of Shadow of Night?

Sounds fine to me! Past Lives stories are under the Time Slip variant of Time Travel and Immortals too perhaps but they could be Alternate Reality in a way too. I can let it slide just this once ;)

Hope you had a Happy Anniversary! I missed a couple points in replying to you (Typing on the Kindle Fire Gen 1 kind of ... yuks... if you get my drift now I am on the keyboard computer). In the "kids in Wales", After Cilmeri series there is another one after Crossroads in Time, it's called Exiles in Time and just came out in February.

The Gwen & Gareth series is good - almost as good as After Cilmeri series (or better some *might* say), but Bard's Daughter is not the very best of that series. I've not read them all, but I did read the Good Knight and it was a lot better than Bard's Daughter - though I definitely appreciated the backstory in Bard's Daughter. Just don't judge the series by the prequel alone. I have the Uninvited Guest on my To Be Read list.

For Time Travel genre in general - there is a group here "Time Travel and / or Alternate Reality" which I joined, and then when the admin of the group left Shelfari completely, I became the admin myself ~ can't say I am the right person but I was the person who stood up and said ok, I will take it on. It's at http://www.shelfari.com/groups/96280 ..... Feel free to lurk on over there with us.

Wow, you really are into sports!
It's been warming up then cooling down over and over. Can't wait until it just decides to stay warm. 40, huh? poor thing.
I passed that landmark years ago. Music Fest sounds good, especially if it is for your birthday. Happy Birthday whenever it is!

I think my "nephew" is at Ole Miss. My dad's third wife's first marriage son's son. Hence quote marks on nephew. My college kids are each 3 hours away....in opposite directions!! Still 2 at home so not yet empty nest. Its a crowded nest when they are all home for sure.

I have 4 children between 15 and 24. The middle two in college. ... My husband hates shopping so I do it for him. He gets me the Best Presents Ever that way. :)

Her Gwen & Gareth series is also good. Ditto lots of what you said including insomnia...if I read in the night on my Fire the ambient light pollution from the screen wakes up DH and then he turns on the bedside lamp and reads on his eInk Kindle until I put my Fire back down. Its so sweet but then both of us are sleep deprived. I have to revert to childhood and read with the blanket over my head!

I see you're reading "the kids in Wales" series too. My sister and I ,and a lady I work with, are all working on this series. I hope you like it ~ I see you did give them 5 stars so I guess you do! Have you just done a marathon of Daughter, Footsteps and Prince ? What pointed you to this series? It's one of my favorites.

Thanks for the recommendation. I will definitely look into Tim Dorsey and Carl Hiaasen. But I am hard on humorous authors because few measured up to my expectations. I have been let down too often in the past.

Yeah, you did pass, Planet J, you just slipped under the wire. Most people don't bother responding so you impressed me there! I really need to find an excellent humorous author to follow, one that is current. I am usually disappointed by them. I've only read a couple of Moore's books and I plan on looking for another of his.

Hi! So... How are you liking SoN? I think I'm going to re-read both of the books, not sure when, but now that the craziness of the holidays are almost behind me, I'm starting to look around for reading material. Over the break I've been enjoying Netflix (probably a dirty word on a site like this!). I bought a couple of paperbacks at Kroger yesterday, though. They look promising, and one of the authors I know and enjoy. I'm going to add them to my shelf here in a minute.

Great to hear the kids will be back in school. I think that first semester is a bit of a shock for anybody. Game Stop, huh? That is Conar's dream job! LOL I should buy stock in the company, if you know what I mean. ;-) I would LOVE to have Brittany working at the library. If she's interested in it, tell her to call me.

I'm taking some vacation time after New Year's Day, just for the rest of the week, but I'll be here in town, puttering around the house. I'll be back in the office on Jan 7.

It was great to hear from you! Please do let me know if/when you come to Oxford. I'd love to visit if you have the time. Lots to talk about!
