I read lots, but I'm kind of poor and buy books in fits and starts and then it takes me like five years to actually read them because I am busy reading books from the library. This is why my "unread" tag is so large. I'll get to them eventually! I swear!

    Traced you thru the love of stones by tobias hill. laughed till i cried about your " I'm kind of poor. " Got into the second hand book habit from childhood. We dont have many public libraries in india. Every reading family had a cupboard or two of books which were exchanged between friends. In Calcutta and Madras there were these impoverished pavement stall booksellers who could discus books with you and even point out another stall for a book he didnt have.
    I buy books only when I really like them. ( like love of stones. )

    I moved to the USA (Boston) a few years ago, to find that the Libraries and Bookstores are groaning with a vast overload of books. Selecting a good book requires more than a good nose. Either one quietly turns sheep to the Book Review Sections' sheperds. Or one looks for an eclectic bookshelf. Thank you for the latter!

    Awesome taste in literature. Nice to see Baer, Barker, Coupland, Camus and Lovecraft in there. I spent some time in Illinois a few years ago; Addison to be exact.

    Oh my dear. I have a lot more unread books than you...I'm just not confessing! Plus, you are redeemed because of your good taste in owning "Sneetches" and Lileks' "The Gallery of Regrettable Food." His website has long been one of my favorites.
