I think you are going to find more annoying heroines in the rest of the Bragg books. Can't remember who is the H/H in Innocent Fire. Is it the one where the Indians kidnap her? Oops, hopefully that doesn't spoil it for you if you haven't got to that part yet.

In The Mascrade the heroine is not annoying. Even in my favorites like the Game and The Conqueror, I thought the heroines were annoying, but I still loved the books because of the very Alpha Males.

Also, in Innocent Fire - their kids all have the spin off books so you will want to finish it.

Firestorm I think is the next one and the heroine is a brat. But it was still fun reading because the hero gave her a spankin for acting like a brat.

Let me know what you think when you are done.

No problem! I saw on the aar board today that the next book was even better than this book. 4 stars, but VERY promising for a debut author! Same addy? I'll mail out in the next week!

Yeah. It was a bit upsetting. This is the lowest I've ever rated a book by her!!!

I'm so glad you read The Game. It is probably my 2nd favorite all time book next to Acheron. I need to go back and reread it, because I devoured it in about 2 days during the first reading. Didn't you love how she played in all of the real historical characters? Even Liam's father was a real life viking. I remember after reading that book I googled all of the supporting characters to see pictures of them and what not. I don't think many of our shelfari friends have read it, I'm so glad that you did. I think for the ROR challenge for the read a book before 2000, I'm going to read one of Brenda Joyce's old ones. Chat with you soon, J

I'm really enjoying it. I like her as a writer, she writes sexy, emotional, beautifully written surroundings, maybe a splash of chick lit. Do you have One Reckless Summer? That was my first book by her, and I loved it!

You really need to get Smooth Talking Stranger, I think you will like it as much as I did. But Sugar Daddy was good also. Let me know what you think when you get finished with it.

Are you going to read Blue Eyed Devil? I will tell you now that it is a very good series. You have to read Smooth Talking Stranger. I haven't read any of her historical romances but if they are anything like her contemporary romances they are good.

Thanks for the heads up on the Brenda Joyce book. I wasn't that impressed with the first time travel - and BJ is one of my FAVORITE authors. I wish her publisher would let her go back to writing historicals.
