Read the review for The Time Traveler's Wife
Cecile- Good shelf. A couple of your favorites are also mine: White Oleander and The Time Traveler's Wife. The movie of Time Traveler's Wife has just come out but I am worried it won't do it justice. It sounds like such a hard one to make and it would be easy to turn it into a lame love story. I am encouraging everyone I know to read the book before seeing the movie. I would hate some of the fascinating story turns to be revealed in a bad movie instead of appreciated in the context of a great novel. i don't want to give anything away...since this is a public post and someone who has not read the book might read it....so i will be sort of vague. An example of such a plot turn would be the moving moment that involves...intersection ...of the 2 lives at a certain age. I had never read a story that had such a perfect set-up to such a strange and moving moment. I see you loved White Oleander but I don't see Fitch's, Paint It Black on your list. If you haven't read it, i suggest it highly. I was impressed with it at least as much as White Oleander...which is saying a lot. I see Holes on your Plan to read shelf...I liked that one too. -John
Hi Cecile. I'm from the Canada group and just wanted to stop by to welcome you to the group. It's not a terribly active group, but it tends to comes in spurts. There is a Welcome and Introductions thread if you'd like to introduce yourself there. We also have a review thread if you read anything by a Canadian author. Of course, feel free to contribute to the other threads as well! Enjoy! :-)
You've got to get up every morning with a smile on your faceAnd show the world all the love in your heartThen people gonna treat you betterYou're gonna find, yes you willThat you're beautiful as you feel.- - - Carole King, "Beautiful"
Welcome to 1001 books. You can keep track of the books you have read from the book, 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die here and join in the discussions on the books we are reading for the month (from the book) or you can argue the merits of the list as some enjoy doing. We hope you will want to join in our discussions. The current books are at the top of the list for that month. If there is any way I or Mossflower can answer your questions about the group or about Shelfari, let us know.If you don’t own the book the list can be found http://www.listology.com/content_show.cfm?content_id=22845.
