Yes, that is correct. You can study these things at large universities, too, but a liberal arts college may give more individual attention and a better fit (I'm applying to Reed myself.)

I don't know about summer programs, but I do know that many universities hold them (I got a flyer in the mail about one from the University of Chicago... it looked pretty legit so you might look into it), but there are many that are very expensive and a waste of money.

    Haha, whoops.

For the highest-ranked colleges colleges (I assume you're talking Ivies here) a good score is 2300+ (or so I've been told... I'm not applying to these schools!). For other schools, I'd say in the 1850-2000 range minimum, but it all depends.

Yeah, definitely.. I had the chance to see it from two different perspectives, because I didn't know the book and I went to the cinema on Twilight film (my friends wanted).. I totally fell in love with it and then I've read books. When I watched Twilight again.. it was different (but I still like it) and I realized that book is much better.. But I appreciate the choice of actors and actresses - well, it helped me a lot when I read the book..

The first day of school is behind me.. thanks God. I'm really happy, it looks I could get A from that math test :D. By the way, have you read any books in English? And I see you like Twilight books (as much as I do), so I wanted to ask what do you think about film (if you have seen it).

Cool! I would kill to get into Columbia. I love New York City and it's a great school. You should go if you get in.

And I thought of another website that might help you out: www.collegeconfidential.com. There are a lot of people on the message boards who are helpful (but a lot who are crazy obsessed with getting into a good school, so watch out.)

It's really difficult with final exams in the Czech republic.. now, we have normal final exams - only 4 subject, but from 2010 (I think) we'll have "new" final exams and no one actually knows how it's going to be. We only know that it's going to be harder and definitely more subjects - which is not good. So I have no idea what subjects I'm going to take. And do you have only that 12 grades or did I go wrong? By the way, in SAT test - you say that your English isn't good, but you have so great results concerning writing and critical reading - I looked on that site and the tests look really difficult (well, for me..), how did you do that??

Good job! That's definitely above average even for American students. You should be proud.

By the way, is English widely spoken in Estonia? Or even at all? Because yours is really good.

It's my last day of winter break, too. Tomorrow we're going to write big math test (I'm really afraid, I have to get A, if I want to get A on report). But concerning the school system - does it mean that you have only 12 grades?? Nine on primary school and three on high school? It's weird.. why we have 13 grades? Nine on primary school and four on high school.. Maybe I got it in a wrong way. And after that 4 years on high school we have school-leaving exam - do you have it, too?

Well, mine is a normal gymnasium - we have two foreign languages - English, of course and then we can choose one: Spanish, German or French - I have French (I love learning English, but I just hate French! But it's because of the teacher, I think.. it's sad, because I'd love to speak French well, but the teacher has no enthusiasm for it!). It's 8 year school - so it starts from 6th grade. To the 1th grade on high school (we have 4 grades in high school, because we haven't 10th grade - in primary school, we have only 9 grades) you can't focus on anything (you can choose only that language, how I mentioned) but from the second grade on high school you can choose some subjects on your own - in that 2th grade it is (you choose one): Latin, math, biology or programming (I'm sure I'm going to Latin), in the 3th grade it is (you choose two): Czech language and communication, humanitarian seminary, math, biology, chemistry, geography and programming - I'm taking humanitarian seminary and Czech language and communication and in the last (the 4th grade) it is (you choose four): conversation in English language, humanitarian seminary, history, geography, math, chemistry, physics, biology and economy - but it's changing, last year there were: literary seminary, conversation in French language and cultural seminary - I hope they will open that literary seminary and cultural seminary, but no one knows, so I'll have to wait until I decide. And I forgot that we could choose in the 1st grade (my grade) if we want continue in musical appreciation or art.. I chose musical appreciation, because we are watching important films there and discussing them (it's fun and more important for me than art). I'd love to go on better school, but in my city there isn't better school, I think - maybe some private schools, but I don't know them and we haven't money on that.

60 000 $? My parents make much less than this - it would be great! I wanted to ask you about your high school. Are you going to school with specialization or is it general? Because I am, for example going to gymnasium (or maybe it's calling a grammar school - I'm not sure), so it's a comprehensive school (without specialization - we have only elective subjects - to focus on something a little bit).
