I'm an avid reader of books, being a man, they do tend to have a certain theme either action or comedy. I'm married to Anna Louise Lucia who's just written her first book "Run Among Thorns" and it's been publshed by Medallion. My only vice is that I cannot walk past a second hand book shop (my favourite one is Barter Books in Alnwick,... more »

Are you enjoying reading The Tain this month. It will be running on into May. The language and being half verse and half prose makes it difficult at times but it will give us some themes to watch out for when we read Beowulf in June.
    Happy Reading

Hi Ian, I note you have read many Pratchett books. I have never read these but have heard lots of good things about them. I hope to read some of his books soon, so what book do you recommend as a starter?

    Thanks, Ben

Hey Ian, the picture I am using for my avatar was taken a few months back. I was visiting Romania and went to see the ruins of an old port city on the Black Sea called Histria. The town was originally a Greek city then Roman and eventually Byzantine before being abandoned around the mid 7th century.

LOL, yes the list does grow, I am sorry that I will not have enough life to read all the books I would like. As for the eye, it is doing better, the retina has reattached, and the gas bubble is down to about 25%. I am still reading with one eye, but I am about to get used to it lol. Thanks for asking.

I love your username so I had to stop by. You have several medieval titles--do you know if there's a medieval romance group?
