This fall I'm out marketing my new book, Twelve is for More Than Doughnuts, poetry and essays based on the Bible. I'm conducting a Spiritual Writing Workshop with Nathan Richardson soon too. I'm still promoting my books, Being Frank with Anne- and Hot and Bothered By It. The cool thing that happened this year is that I now have a copy of Being... more »

Nice to make your acquaintance on Shelfari. It is great to have you in my network of friends, here on Shelfari. I have sent you an email in response to your offer to review "Moments of Forever". Please feel free to visit my author website, as well (www.momentsofforeverbook.com). There you can read other reviews of the book.

    Hola Phyllis,

    How are things?

I just wanted to thank you so much for your kind words on amazon about my book. What an unexpected and sincere surprise!!!

I am off to Pittsburgh this week for a mission of sorts. If successful I will gladly share those details when I come back. After that it is off to the DR for a whole month. I am so excited! I just hope that my stomach does better this time around. :)

    Mille grazie!!!

Bitter-sweet. Turned 50!!! this summer and had our son home from Chicago for a week -so that was wonderful! Lost my fabulous mother-in-law shortly afterwards. Her death was a real blow, but also strangely "beautiful" in that she chose hospice and the ending of treatments - such a brave and noble woman.

    Hey Phyllis,

    How goes it?

Glad to hear you received the book yesterday. I'm anxious to hear what you and your daughter think about it.

I hope you are enjoying the summer! It won't stop raining in NJ.

    Buon giorno,

    How have you been?

Yeah, I hear you about work taking over life. Luckily, I had a wonderful group of students this year and due to the smoothness of my classes I was really able to attack book #3 - hoping to have it out in a few weeks actually.

Aside from that, I will be heading back to the Dominican Republic this summer for my work with "Friends Beyond Borders." I have really fallen in love with the people over there and look forward to getting my hands dirty once again this July.

I hope all is well, Michael

No way! How exciting. Well.....I took a job at a different college last June. Sold our house and moved the first week of July. Found out that the house we were suppose to close on didn't have a clear title (as if the house could have a title), ended up moving into some rental property, started my new job, looked for and bought a new house, moved, lots of painting, new grandson,.....I seriously could go on and on. But all is good! I've been kinda out of the Shelfari thing lately, but I am getting back into it since I will be using it with my classes in the fall. Glad to hear that the book is getting such good reviews. So...have you started another?

    Hey Phyllis,

    How goes it?

I am doing well. Totally exhausted this week because we had a class trip for the eighth graders yesterday, but I am still hanging on.

I just wanted to thank you for the kind words about my book. They were very generous. It's taking a lot longer than expected to finish book three up, but I will let you know when things are finally done.

The cold weather is coming. I love it!

    Evening Phyllis,

    How have you been?

Sounds like things are going quite well for you and your book. I'm excited to hear a fellow writer experiencing such success. Special congrats on the powerful reviews! If you would still like me to post a review for your first book let me know. I apologize, but the end of this year was a handful and several of my own projects got sidetracked. Oh, I too am also working on getting my 3rd book out before the end of the year. Seems like we are always in sync with each other.

I'm doing well. Just got back from a month in South Carolina and I leave for the Dominican Republic tomorrow morning - second year doing a "social justice tour" of the island.

And thanks for the compliment. Your photo is quite stunning also. If I ever write a formal review for your books I will definitely choose that picture to accompany it. :)
