Have you read down & out in paris & london by George Orwell?
Well I read your note about Grapes of Wrath being Steinbeck's most open angry book. It is the most famous and quoted - but I would place "In Dubious Battle" as his most angry book. It deals about the communist movement among farm workers in California, and I feel that is one reason it is not so well known / publicised.
