Just happy to be surrounded by people who love books. And thankful for my sweetie who has repeatedly given me books despite my ever increasing reading backlog. Next life = silverfish.

Peter, I've read Siddhartha twice- once on my own, and once for school. It's a very good story. I liked it more than The Little Prince, in fact.

But I'm glad you chose The House of Mirth for next year, because I feel that is one of the more unappreciated books! People choose The Age of Innocence over it, but I think the former is far better.

I loved The Penderwicks, Peter! In fact, I'm hoping to find the second book in a bargain bin. :) If you spot one, please let me know!!

Peter, I'm so jealous! Been wanting those Moomin comic strip books for years (they're on my Amazon wishlist) but I've not yet gotten around to buying them. I can't wait to hear what you think of Day of the Triffids, especially in comparison to Blindness!

Peter, I just saw (from your blog post two years ago!) that you read "Eat This, Not That!" - if you have a copy, please can I borrow it? We generally try to eat healthy at home, but I'm curious about what the book has to say :)

Peter! I finished The History of the Siege of Lisbon last night. It was lovely! The love story was so sweet, and I agree with the history may not be truly "factual" thesis. My only gripe with the book was that my edition did not have a map - a sketch of the city of Lisbon, where the gates and walls were etc, would have been most helpful. (I was too lazy to Google one, hehe.) Have just started I, Claudius. Happy Easter!!

Peter, same question as Maydayeve - and will you let me know how you find it? I loved Out of Africa and Shadows in the Grass, but did not enjoy Last Tales so much.
