“This was an informative read. Most people using MySQL end up becoming pretty decent users of the engine without really knowing a ton of the inner workings, which is bad! This book has a lot of good insight into the world of load balancing, security, and performance. This book was a bit dated though, I think they've released a newer version. I should pick that up.”

“This book is one of those "have to read" texts of computer science. Having said that, a lot of the essays are dated (we are talking punch cards), but a lot of the theories and philosophies are timeless.”
