Hi! Since I used your shelf to update my own, I thought you wouldn't mind another friend contact.
Normally Patricia Briggs likes fantasy - different world, magic, quests, things like that. She's not the best out there, but she's entertaining enough. Her last two novels however have been about a "walker" - a woman who shapechanges into a coyote and was raised by werewolves. The two books revolve around her (Mercy), the werewolf clans and vampires. Normally I'm quite fussy where werewolf/vampire novels are concerned, but she actually does a good job with werewolf hierarchies and clans and gives a different look on the vampire too.
