Born in Brooklyn New York the only child of first generation Italian parents, P.C. Marotta has always held family traditions and values close to her heart. With her love of writing she writes about what she knows, experiences and passions. Her first book, Brooklyn Italian: A Memoir of Recipes of Days Gone By she talks about her father's ancestors in Williamsburg Brooklyn a place changed over time and the Italian immigrants that gave us so much, through their food and traditions. Her second book In My Mother's Kitchen ( to be released February 2013) honors her mother, her best friend. Once again she takes a different approach to the modern cookbook, a cookbook with a story, heartwarming and inspiring.
Born with talents in art and music she believes in freedom of expression through the creativeness of oneself. A true believer in good health and an active lifestyle she has enjoyed rock climbing, hiking, camping and sky diving. "Sitting on the couch doing nothing" is not in her vocabulary. A lover of motorcycles she loves to accompany her husband on scenic rides during the summer months.
With an educational background in veterinary sciences, nutrition and dentistry she has loved animals all her life, she was interviewed by DogWorld magazine in 1997 for her devoted work in rescue, rehabilitation of toy breeds and the training of people, she continues to be an advocate of all animal life "to respect this planet and all we share it with is to respect ourselves as well."
When not writing, she enjoys the company of good friends and family with her husband by her side and her beloved dogs.
