This book was recommended to me by some young friends and I can see why it is so popular. Wonderful writing, great storytelling and just enough creepy to be fun, but not awful.

Engrossing really sums this book up. No question. Also liked her free story on amazon.com.

My son and I have been reading Artemis Fowl and get a kick out of them, even though we're technically too old for them now. But how can you not enjoy a dwarf who gets out of trouble by farting? I mean, come on!

One reviewer called this book a silly book for smart people, or something like that. I have to agree. Totally fun. Loved all of them, in fact and am reading the last in the series right now....

I thought the book was, as usual, well written and engrossing. What I particularly like about JK Rowling is the way she manages to slip small clues past you, then have them slam into you later. Her plots twist and turn--sometimes even in on each other. And nothing is ever what it seems to be.

I particularly liked the ending. I like things tied up neatly, so found it particularly satisfying. As an author myself, I do think she's going to have a hard time just walking away. And there is that 19 years she could fill in a few more blanks....
