I've been married for 15 years and have two daughters ages 7 and 9. I'm active in my church with Awana. I ride a Harley Davidson Sportster that I just recently got in June and I'm active with my husband in the Christian Motorcyclists Association. I love to read Christian Fiction. I work from home as a medical transcriptionist.

I really thought I would get a lot of reading done this summer. After all, school is out, it's my time to relax. In fact we were going to turn my son's room into a library after we move him to college. Well, when my oldest daughter told us that she was expecting our first grandchild (due in December) and that she was getting married in August, and my son decided to go to college after all (we're moving him in August) and we took what will probably be our last full family vacation (went to Vegas) and found out my mother-in-law will bemoving into the room my son is vacating (so no library), all plans of spending a relaxing summer with my nose in novels disipated. Now I feel lucky to have finished a book at all. I completed Inkdeath by Cornelia Funke during our Vegas trip. I have logged it under "Travel to another world" on my group "2 books a month". It was book three in a trilogy. It was good. I guess because I had such long periods between when I could read, I found it hard to keep up with; my fault not the author's. I am about to leave with my mom to go to Midland for a week. I am planning on bringing a few books with me. Maybe with no wedding plans to work on, and no college preparations, no kids or husband to cater to, I will have the opportunity to read. Wish me luck. :-)

No worries....I rarely come to Shelfari unless I have a note from someone...I use Facebook so much more, it's just easier. Drop me a note there anytime you want to. Did you see that The Other Daughter got printed with a new cover and is being dist in Dutch? The Netherlands I assume.

I know what you mean about busy...no kids at home keeping me running, but this new Bridal Veil book, my huge yard and huger garden keeps me busy enough. Have a wonderful summer and take some time for you!

Hey, Patty....glad to see that you gave A Vote of Confidence 5 stars. I'm about halfway finished through my copy, and I'm really enjoying it. Of course, I generally love anything that she writes. :o)

Hey, Patty! I see you finished the first book in the Mark of the Lion series. What did you think? It's been a long time since read those, but I loved every single one. :o) I saw the Postcards from Pullman books on your shelf, too....didn't notice them til just now. I read the first one a week or so ago, and I'm about to read the other 2. I really liked the first one....looks like you did, too!

I remember having to get at least 5 chapters or so into it before it really started to make sense. She starts from several different angles, but it's all stuff that you'll need to know to understand the story. Trust me, you'll immediately start book 2 after finishing book 1, and the same for book 3! :o) And I would've LOVED to have met her in person....I bet that was a great experience! I'll be checking out your blog here in a few minutes. :o)

We have actually been out once this week and are riding again tomorrow. Our church is doing a"Cruisin' with Christ" ride after service this Sunday, but I think we'll have to pass on that because of prior commitments. I hope you get to ride soon. I was looking through your books and was wondering if you have read any of Penelope Stokes work. She has two in particular that I think you would enjoy..."The Blue Bottle Club" and"Amythist Heart" (one of my all time favorites.)

I believe that we are all the same - only different ideas of up bringing and the creator of all made it that way for a reason... That's the beauty of life we had nothing to do with it...
