About a book to read? Read ANYTHING by Dan Skelton.
Boy, do I ever respond slowly. I am just catching up after editing a 416 page manuscript for a client. The work was pure joy since I've known the author for many years. You asked for a poem. Here's one I wrote almost a year ago when my writing world changed forever:DECLARATION Raw, exposed, sensual,I declare my independence. For too long, I held back wordsbecause of what someonemight think. Now I say, listen. If my words are cold, all is well.Ice has its purpose. If my words are hot, I am hot also.I am magma, steam, essence flowing.I am all that I am and nothing more,Nothing less.I'm neither Faulkner nor Fitzgerald,Neither Pound or Porter.I am my own voice, singing my songInto the night air.I will not be silent.I will speak.

So many good books, so little time!!!! From the early books, Portnoy's Complaint is a must. Profane, offensive, and wildly funny--a landmark book that I've enjoyed many times. From the later stuff, go with The Plot Against America. A deeply profound alternative history with strong--and never stated--implications about the post-Patriot Act America. Also, I've stalked you in cyberspace: check out your requests for friends on MySpace and check out my website at www.arniebernstein.com.
Which Philip Roth book do you mean? I have them all! If you're talking about the most recent one, Exit Ghost, I thought it was good, well written but not one of Roth's more outstanding works. It seemed like he was playing familiar themes and characters without extending himself
Hello Pam, thanx for the friendship. If that was your first novel "Want Some Get Some" I really liked it.
