I will say this novel helped to place my faith back into Carl Weber, because he step out of his character a little with this, and I like that. It also open my eyes to Mary B. style and writing. I'm looking forward to reading more of her work. The ending has me looking for the squel to this one for Carl Weber, and I'll research Mary B. to make sure I'll start at the beginning of this series.

The book is for adults because of it's theme, and issues, which involves, kiddnapping, rape, lots of sex, and one crazy chick!

Both writers did a good job with their characters. -It shows the truth about how men really don't have a chance in hell against women, unless she's weak.......food for thought.

All in all, it's a good read, it did take me a while to get through it, but I'll blame that on me not having the time to be still long enough to do so.

A wonderful novel. A literary classic. I read this novel to do an essay, I am surprise I do not own a copy.

I think this book as well as some others by Zora should be read by aspiring authors for it style and how this writer handle the contents and subject matter.

    “Married couples beware!”

Lela James was warned by her grandmother, Jenna, but like with everything many lessons are learnt firsthand. First the mechanics: the book is 180 page, perfect blind, the print font seems to be about an 11 pt., meaning very readable, bright white paper stock. Character development was perfect. Chapter progression was excellent. Plot-points and tension levels were all in the spot and executed well. –All of this meaning this author can write.

This is an excellent book for beginning married couples because it will teach them all the pit falls and how to watch out for all those snakes out there. It point out issues which is at the heart of every relationship. Issues about feelings, neglect, and obsession, which has the power to divide and destroy any marriage if the couple fails to keep it tight. –Lela James finds a man who has everything, good looks, an educated mind, a good job, and actually likes working…..lol.

But having it all comes at a price. This young couple learns the hard way that “for every action, there is a reaction. And for non-action, there is a reaction.” Shani Greene Dowdell, pinned a masterpiece for her duet novel. I’m hoping there is an sequel to follow.

A very good read. Mr Weber created a nice cast of characters with nothing but drama in their lives. It started nice and got better with each turn of the page.

  • He's A Keeper

    He's A Keeper

    by Leila Jefferson

    He’s a Keeper
    Leila Jefferson
    $14.95 - Pg. 250 Paperback
    ISBN: 097610251X

Ms. Jefferson weaved a spinning web of love, lies, lust and deceit. A simple question put is, ‘How do you stop a runaway train?’ And the answer is, you can’t. The hereon, Toni learns some hard lessons, in some harsh ways. –First the mechanics: Character development was excellent. There was no stalling, the story moved very well. Plot points were set and well developed. There were minimum spelling errors. Nice white pages, but there were separation between the pages of the binding which concerned me a bit. Being a person who usually only purchase hardcover books, this made me wished I had. But that’s not under Leila’s control.

He’s a Keeper moves fast and it take you into the adolescent of the swinger’s lifestyle. Toni starts this novel thinking that she can have her cake and eat it too, while having enough to feed her soul mate, Eric. Toni seeks to have all that every woman wants, a wonderful husband, adorable children, a decent job, friends, and love. But Toni also has an itch. The author tried to convince the reader that Toni enters this world of Swinging to keep her husband’s lust for other women to a null, while she explore her inner secrets and desires, oh and Melvin.

No need to say her plans backfires, all hell break loose and her world is turned upside down.

This book is for a mature reader. There is drug, group sex, and abuse that will make you wanna jumped between the pages to voice your two-cents, or kick some butt. It’s just all that.
