Reading and writing are my simple bread and butter. I make my living as a graphic designer, but anyone who works creatively in their career will tell you that an empty head produces just about nothing. Thus I fill it with just about anything. I'm a fantasy/sci-fi die hard but I love scholarly literature (mostly renaissance and before),... more »

Yeah, I read about 3 quarters of his work when I was 16. He's a little sexually fixated but not in a dirty way, so it didn't bother me. He's very weird, but is usually thought provoking so I like him a lot.

as for the green bookmarks, I'm not sure. I thought it indicated books I plan to read, but some of them aren't on that list, so I don't know. I've only been on this thing for 3 days but I suppose I may have already broken it...

Yes, I got your recommended books in my e-mail a few days ago and added them to my shelf. If you think of anything else you think I'd like, feel free to recommend! I am going to go driving around tomorrow and try to find the library here, so any suggestions will be welcome!... unless they're stupid, in which case I shall beat you from afar. X-(

Nope, im 25 and married. I love YA books though because i think they are more original and creative than the airport/mass marketed books that are out there. Adult stuff is just the same repeated plots over and over for the sole purpose of making lots of money quickly without the talent or effort. I love classics too, fantasy, some sci fi, anything really. I was really disappointed with the ending of Wicked and I will not be duped again. Glad to know someone shares my pain. A lot of people are like you though and dont get my obsession for YA even though some is below my reading level but I like finding the gems that adults miss out on because they buy whatever is advertised at them. Maybe Im just weird. Im actually a very strong avid reader, sorry to throw you with my weird bookshelf! :)

My husband and I love Miyazaki's works. The movies are beautiful and tell breathtaking stories. he's a master of his craft for sure. My husband's fave is Nausicaa. If im not home and he cant sleep, he puts it on. I love spirited away, and kiki's delivery service. Is nausicaa your favorite?
