I assure you that I am not a tiny, yappy-type dog with great taste in books. But, I'd be a lot cooler if I were.
By day, I work in non-profit, and it is awesome. By night, I try (in vain) to meet the demands of the small, yappy-type dog pictures to your left. I also knit things. And cook things. And watch things. Sometimes, all three at once! I maintain a comfortable level of medium-sized pimpin' and one day aspire to the type of "big pimpin'" all the kids are talking about.
I received both my bachelor's and Master's degrees in literature, and while working on my Master's, I had the opportunity to work as a research assistant for a world-renowned literary scholar. During those final two years of my education, I discovered graphic novels, medieval drama, Virginia Woolf, Roddy Doyle, 18th Century Travel Literature, modern Japanese novelists and bubble tea. The last item on that list isn't as frivilous as it seems...
I also had the chance to work on a major, scholarly book project while I learned from a faculty that I both adore and respect. I am thankful every day for the gifts so graciously given to me by those faculty members and my peers.
I love literature because it constantly and consistently strengthens my mind, allowing me to see truths and treasures in life that I would not be able to see otherwise.
