My karma was to be born in America where nobody has any fun or believes in anything, especially freedom. -- Jack Kerouac
I'm really bad at these profile things. I live in Columbus, Ohio with my husband and my kittens. I learned to read when I was three; I shocked my mom in the grocery store by reading the packages and saying, Look, Mom! Buy one, get one free! I have a million books (well, like nine pages) on my to be read list; every time I see a book I think I d like, I add it. Otherwise, I ll never remember it. The main shelf consists of books I ve read *cover* to *cover* and I ve tried to cull all the kiddie stuff and teen angsty stuff--definitely I am almost positive I don t have cookbooks (except for Alton Brown s, but his were more than just recipes), picture books, or too many teenage horror novels on my shelf. My main book loves are contemporary literature/fiction and 20th century literature; I have also been known to dabble in humorous essays, well-written crime novels (of the Elmore Leonard/Carl Hiaasen ilk), biographies, and bargain-bin books that have interesting covers. You know that person that they re marketing to with those matte finish covers with intriguing cover art? That s me, as long as the first few pages don t bore me to tears. Right now, I m really into Japanese literature. I m currently studying foodservice management and baking/pastry arts. br/ br/ If you have tried to friend me without first sending me a note or two, or if you are already a friend and have invited me to a group, please don t take it personally if I decline. I don t have the attention span to be a member of too many groups at once :D
I already did this whole profile thing on my myspace, so I ll just copy what I wrote there.
