I added the Shelfari app on Facebook, but while the app defines books read and books owned, the normal Shelfari doesn't. So basically the purpose of it has been destroyed. (Purpose being that my friends could go through here, see what I had, read the blurbs and borrow what they like. Worked for a while but obviously not anymore.)

It would be so easy to mess this kind of book up, but Jasper Fforde plays it up well. the word "genius" comes to mind, but considering the fate of geniuses in his books, I'll hold the word in check.

Elves and Oni and little girls in giant combat boots, oh my!

In case you could not tell by the giant holographic catfish on the cover, this is shiny book. It's full of light and fun, but war as well. Through out is our fight for Earth's survival stretched and taken to the extreme. Swords and magic versus guns and technology with the main character grabbing both and standing them on their head for her own purposes.

I haven't been able to get into the other Austin Family books, but luckily this one stands well on its own.

I don't even LIKE baseball, but this book was awesome none the less. There's just so much that can be said. It's . . . everything.

It's not often history books are fun--especially when they're about war. Leo finds the little things that keep people fighting, the things that push people on, and the many lost souls along the way.

    Read. It.

    Now.
