Oel

Being Leo.

I may not have the brains like the genius that everyone seems to decode presently. I do not possess the looks of an actor that previously launched a sunken ship. What I just have is a wonderful testimony that Someone turned my failures to success, constantly giving me strength in my daily weaknesses, and guarantees a bright... more »

Lord take this cup away from me....
"I can't son, it belongs to you"
But Lord this cup is too much for me to bear!
"You can handle it, Jesus drank from the cup"
    But Lord I aint Jesus!
    "But He lives in YOU!"
    But Lord I am weak!
"His strength works best when you’re weak"
But Lord have you seen what's in my cup?
"Yeah I know I put it in there!"
But Lord there is sickness in my cup!
"And I called you to heal"
But Lord there is confusion in my cup!
"And I called you to teach"
But Lord there is pain in my cup!
"And I called you spread my Word"
But Lord why do I have to drink THIS cup?
”Because I want you to act like my Son!”
Last question Lord....Does everyone have to drink this cup?
"Everyone has to taste their reality"

I think you will like it -- i did have the title wrong, however -- it is " after God's own heart" - subtitle: the key to knowing and living God's passionate love for you. Pretty challenging! May God be our BEST valentine!

Hope the book was better than the movie! the movie was VERY costly - i took my granddaughters to see it -- and my credit cards/license/checks were stolen from my handbag! $15,000 and many phone calls, police reports, etc., the movie is finally over!! was a very long movie!!! : )

By the way - i'm forever grateful for your recommendation of The Shack. have you read either of these: Cat & Dog Theology by Bob Sgoren (and a co-author) or A Man after My Heart - Mike Bickle? I think you would enjoy BOTH of them - Cat & Dog Theology is a very easy but profound read, you'll be amazed. may be hard to find in Philippines.

Thought you might be interested -- i recently met a man who went to college with Jim Elliot at Wheaton -- (and this man has been a missionary to the Philippines for 30-40 years-- he returns every year for a teaching ministry. Unfortunately, I cannot pull his name out of my head at the moment ) It was so much fun hering him share about "Jim" as a college student and about his testimony and his love for people. And added to that, was to hear about this man's long career with the Philippines and a Bible college there.

here's what i found about the book, "Poland":
Like the heroic land that is its subject, James Michener's POLAND teems with vivid events and unforgettble characters. In the sweeping span of eight tumultuous centuries, three Polish families live out their destinies and the drama of a nation--in the grand tradition of a great James Michener saga.
"POLAND is a monumental effort, a magnificent guide to a better understanding of the country's tribulations."
