I was taught to read by a wonderful woman who instilled a love of reading in each of her students and we all enjoyed it in her class. Afterwards my love of reading faded for a bit but I enjoyed reading Sweet Valley Twins before moving on to Sweet Valley High, Sweet Valley Seniors and anything by Lurlene McDaniel. In high school I began to... more »

Uhm well I think the first part is definitely better than the second part... It did get better at the end though :)
And I absolutely loved My Sister's Keeper! I'd love to have more recommendations if you have any favourites, I love the way she writes!

Hey! I thought I'd let you know about I, Lucifer! It was an interesting book, I haven't read anything else like it before and it's so funny at points and really interesting at others, it really makes you think! I love the beginning until about halfway through the book, but I have to admit I got a little bored towards the middle, so it's not perfect... I don't like the way Lucifer talks at points, but the idea behind the book in general is very clever! It'd be interesting to know what you think if you decide to read it!
Oh and I'm reading My Sister's Keeper at the moment, I remember you were telling me about it I think? I really like it, it's such a beautiful and insightful novel...

Ohh, I completely forgot to update my Shelfari, I finished it yesterday! I love it, and the second book on the series is already on its way! After reading this, I am rethinking Twilight... City of Bones is really well written, it has a very interesting plot with lots of characters, and it's so clear that the author thought so much about it before writing it, it's such a more complicated work than something like Twilight. I really loved the characters, the story, the twist... What I liked the most is that the setting is really interesting, she managed to fit a supernatural world in such an urban city like New York, she gives a completely different light to it :) You should read it!
(I was going through your list earlier actually, I'm really interested in A Great and Terrible Beauty now, it sounds really good! And Ophelia as well!)

Yes, that's the one! The italian title is "Men Who hate Women" which is also the original title in Swedish... It's a bit heavy in some points but I thought it was a good book and I definitely want to read the sequel! Characters are really interesting :)

Will definitely let you know and write something about it, everybody's talking about this book and I just thought I'd give it a try as well! It's interesting that you have an unpopular opinion of it :) Also, have you ever read any books of the Millennium trilogy by the Swedish Stieg Larsson? They are very popular here, I read the first one and really liked it! :)

Fantastic! I'm so glad you liked it. I thought it was excellent, for a feminist piece.

I loved the Awakening! I read it in college. You'll have to let me know what you think of it. Oh! And I started the Road today. :)

Cool! If you think of it, maybe see when they might be able to meet for our June meeting. I will talk to my friend, Maureen, as well. I think she wanted to come to our next meeting. Then, maybe we can figure out a good day to meet on Monday!

Have you started the book yet? I'm about halfway through, and it is pretty interesting.

Hey, would you be willing to meet Monday night at 6:30 or 7-ish instead of Sunday? My parents are coming to town this weekend to help build a deck on Jenny's house, and they are planning to stay late on Sunday!

I park at the Rosedale Mall P&R on weekdays. My bus usually gets in at around 6:30, so I could meet you and Jenny at Border's or wherever! Let me know if this will work for you!

Yay! I bought mine on Wednesday, and I'm already almost halfway through it! It is definitely a quick read. You won't want to stop reading after the first chapter.

I will see my sister in about a half hour. I will message you back to let you know what times work for her.

That's fine! Just let me know. My parents will be in town next weekend. They will be staying at my sister's house, but I'm guessing they will leave sometime on Sunday morning or early afternoon. Hopefully we can figure out a time that works! Otherwise, I'm not opposed to meeting during the week.

Sure! Remind me to bring it with me. I have the whole series, so if you want to borrow them all, I can certainly bring the other books along as well! They are such quick reads. I think I read the whole series in about two weeks!

I saw Jenny last night, and I mentioned that your mom and sister might join the club. She was super excited.

Oh yeah, for sure! I would be willing to welcome people of all ages. It makes things more interesting, in my opinion. My friend, Maureen, would like to join the book club for the summer as well. She might not make the next meeting, but she should make it to the meeting in June. Wow, we might end up with quite a crowd! That's great!

I haven't started the book, either! Well, at least we have a few more weeks to read it!

Ha! Wow, it sounds like you have a crazy weekend ahead of you! I wanted to talk to you because my sister asked if we could maybe postpone until the last weekend in May? She is having a hard time finishing the book.

I think that she and I will be going home next weekend for Memorial Day. Actually, I'm not positive on that, but I will double check. Would the last weekend in May work for you?
