I was taught to read by a wonderful woman who instilled a love of reading in each of her students and we all enjoyed it in her class. Afterwards my love of reading faded for a bit but I enjoyed reading Sweet Valley Twins before moving on to Sweet Valley High, Sweet Valley Seniors and anything by Lurlene McDaniel. In high school I began to... more »

No I haven't seen the show! I really like the books so far! I've read 3 and I've just started the 4th! I liked the 3rd book as it was a little darker! I like that each character has a very defined personality! Sometimes in books with a lot of characters you struggle to remember which one is which, but in this one it's all so clear! They are so addictive! My favourite character was Aria in the first book but I think now I really like Spencer and Hanna!

After reading it on your LJ, I have decided to download Pretty Little Liars for the Kindle! I wasn't too sure about it at the start, but by 25% into the book I was so addicted that I finished it in less than 2 days! :D Thank you for talking about it :D

I am so glad I'm not the only one who thought that about Fallen! It was a strange read since I didn't want to just abandon it and I still wanted to see the ending! As you said, the story was not too bad, and I liked the setting too, so it took me a while to figure out what it was, but... I just don't like the characters! I don't feel anything for them... I don't think I'll be reading the second book but I'm glad you thought the same! And I will check out The Immortals series, thank you! I'm getting so addicted to downloading books for my Kindle! :P

I'm so glad you liked Blue Bloods! I personally think it's one of the worst books in the series, so get ready for more excitement to come! But don't do my mistake and don't read them too quickly, as we have a long wait ahead of us for the new one!

Haha well done for guessing :D I am so annoyed at the writer for getting the Italian bits completely wrong! But yes, I do recommend it! The first book is very predictable, but the others make up for it! I read them very quickly and I love the fact that they are getting more 'political' as well (all the 'vampire politics' :P) and you never know who's good and who isn't! Also, the characters are starting to develop more and I found a few similarities with The Luxe, as there are 3 characters and one of them really reminds me of the series (her name is Mimi). Oh, and the writer got so much better, especially in the third book :) Her descriptions keep improving!
Let me know if you do end up reading them! I just got the fourth one on my Kindle and am going to start now :D

I haven't been on LJ for a very long time now! I keep planning to write every weekend but real life just has priority right now! I decided to move back to Italy after I finish teaching and that's keeping me busy, and teaching is also very stressful, I'm not enjoying it that much! So i keep spending lots of weekends at home and when I'm here I'm just planning and marking all the time!
Ohh that's good you're focusing on your writing, how exciting! :)

Hey! I've just finished reading the 'A Great and Terrible Beauty' trilogy! I got it because I saw it in your shelfari and I was really curious, and I absolutely loved it! Have you read all three of them? :) I think it's actually quite similar to The Luxe thinking about the characters, but much much deeper in terms of how much is going on and the message at the end!
Do you have any recommendations of anything that's similar to that?
(And hope you're ok, by the way!)

Uhm well I think the first part is definitely better than the second part... It did get better at the end though :)
And I absolutely loved My Sister's Keeper! I'd love to have more recommendations if you have any favourites, I love the way she writes!

Hey! I thought I'd let you know about I, Lucifer! It was an interesting book, I haven't read anything else like it before and it's so funny at points and really interesting at others, it really makes you think! I love the beginning until about halfway through the book, but I have to admit I got a little bored towards the middle, so it's not perfect... I don't like the way Lucifer talks at points, but the idea behind the book in general is very clever! It'd be interesting to know what you think if you decide to read it!
Oh and I'm reading My Sister's Keeper at the moment, I remember you were telling me about it I think? I really like it, it's such a beautiful and insightful novel...
