Yay! Just kinda missed ya, ducky.
Hey odd...you okay? Not the victim of a thanksgiving turducken sandwich?
Thanks. And, by the way I like your quote from C.S. Lewis. For me it is so true. Happy reading.
You have a great shelf of books. I need to explore it more. Would you consider makeing your reading statistics public?
I heard that they were going to make one, but I wasn't sure when it would be done. Hopefully they will do a good job, it would make a fun movie! :)
Yes! I watched it during naptime the past two days. I really liked it!! I think it is my favorite version (at least of the ones I've seen). Thanks again for letting me borrow it!
I love your profile picture, but I love your bookshelf even more.
hello sir :)
I enjoyed it. They modified the story quite a lot/expanded about half through, but at the same time there was a lot more they could do because of the meduim. They really delved into Georges Milies life, which was pretty interesting. I definely felt that it was worth the time to watch. And we rented it from Red Box do it's pretty cheap. :)
lol, sorry for the double post....
So no one told me that Hugo was turned into a movie! My fiance and I watched it last night and I'm like, hmmm, something about this seems very very familiar... oh, no way, I totally read that book!
Annnnd Tikki Tikki Tembo was a childhood favorite of mine. I still have my copy! My kids both ended up loving it too.
Hee hee I've read Julius Baby of the World. :) How I miss those days! Lots of Junie B. Jones, too. Only until she was a Graduation Girl. Never got into Junie B in first grade. My daughter used some of those Junie B's for Oral Interpretation in high school for debate. (With success at tournaments!)Enjoy!
So just picked up Invention of Hugo Cabret from the library... you didn't tell me it was as thick as the dictionary! I almost didn't grab it off the hold shelf because I thought it wasn't for me...
Omg! Memoirs is such a great book! You'll blow through it in a minute.
Sweet, thank you for the recommendation. It's at my library (which are the best kind of books) and so I will be reading it shortly. lol.
Children and books with lots are pictures are my favorite. I always giggle when people tell me that those don't count. A really good one was "The Arrival" which had no words and was obviously a kids book, but it was so rich and stimulating. Idk, really like that kind of stuff.
I like how many books we have in common. Though you have a lot of ground to chew through on that planed to read list.
Maurice Sendak left us. I am sure you heard. :(
