Books are one of the best things in life and the best things in life are meant to be shared (all the better with friends and family). There's never quite enough time to read as much as I like but I carve out time to relax with a good book as often as I can. Currently reading a great book? Let me know about it....

I haven't read them yet, but I hope to get to them soon. I had already started Snakehead, but I couldn't stop myself from jumping into The Thief the night after I went to Barnes & Noble. My summer is going well. Between weight & speed training and football camp, I stay pretty busy during the week. How has your summer been so far?

Hey Tara- I haven't heard from you in a few months and I was wondering how you were doing. I am about to finish up "It" by Stephen King and start "War and Peace"- which may take the whole summer to read. What have you been up to?

Hey Tara, How's it going? Are you still a member of the Broads reading group? Have they read any good books lately?

The Minneapolis-St.Paul-Minnesota Group recently hit 100 members, so we're kicking off a 100-Member Celebration! Details are available on the group site. Hint: It involves a drawing for some gift certificates, and participation is required in order to be eligible for the drawing :-) Come celebrate with us!

Also, we've announced that our summer group read will be Leif Enger's newest book: So Brave, Young and Handsome. I'm reading this book right now and will have the discussion thread up by next week. The thread will be available for discussion this entire summer.

No problem :) It was the first thing I did after the stress dropped down a bit.

But, but, but. It's getting tougher in school by the day. Exams in a month and the teachers are just as tense as we are. So much to do, and little time. But I guess, I'm just going to have to learn how to live with it.

We had our Easter Break the past week :) It was pretty good. I had a whole lot of work to do though. Also, I had these dance practices to go for. I do a bit of Indian dancing. And one of my friends in school does traditional Irish. We have this Talent Show in school in less than a week and we decided to do a bit of a fusion! Have you heard Elevation by U2? We're dancing to that. It's like a danceoff :) I hope it works out!

Oh wow, that must have been amazing! Has the All-American Rejects concert happened as yet? Ah I wish I was there!

I tried the site, but it says it's not available here as yet :( Sounds completely wonderful though. I wish I had access to it! I guess I'm just going to stick to Windows Media Player and Youtube :P

I just found out a few hours ago that Coldplay is performing in Denmark's biggest music festival. Unfortunately, it's only for over 18 people, which means I can't go. Otherwise, I would have loved to.

You know the lead singer of Pearl Jam, Eddie Vedder? He sings solo stuff too. Try listening to Hard Sun, Society or Rise by him. They're all wonderful. Especially the lyrics :) He actually sang all the songs for this movie: Into The Wild. It's a great movie. See if you can get your hands on it :)

That's it for now :) I'll see you around!
    Take care.

Hi Tara- I am sure you are glad to see winter coming to an end. How are things with you? What are you reading these days? I just finished reading "The Stand" by Stephen King and am now reading and enjoying "The Gravedigger's Daughter" by Joyce Carol Oates. I have been busy writing and working at the library. I am going to Charleston this weekend for a wedding...drop me a line when you get a chance. Jason

Dear Tara: I am an author from Massachusetts. After years of rejection slips, I had my debut novel HUNTING THE KING published last year. The publication of a novel by a small independent press requires a lot of independent promotion, too. As part of that promotion I try reaching out to people who might have an interest in HUNTING, which is a page-turning thriller. The main character is Molly O’Dwyer. When Molly was five years old, she witnessed her mother die in a fire that Molly believes she set. After her mother’s death, she is raised on the campus of a Jesuit college. Thirty years later, she is an archaeologist recruited to join an expedition into war torn Iraq. What lies buried beneath the sands of ancient Babylon that would have an international team of scientists anxious to risk their lives? A passionate scientist herself, a seeker of truth, Molly can’t resist the call. Yet, still a loyal Catholic, she can’t help but fear the consequences of this momentous dig. ForeWord Magazine said, ‘Given such an auspicious debut, the sequel can’t come soon enough.’ If you have the time, check out the explosive YouTube book trailer for HUNTING THE KING. Please let me know if you have an interest. Thank you.

Oh well, hasn't it been long.. I think school work took over my mind for a while.

And I'm back once again :) School is going just fine, even though the work pile just gets higher by the day. And the pressure builds up as this year comes to an end. *Sigh*

But I guess I could do with a bit of Shelfari.

So, how've you been? And what books have you read lately? :)

And yet again, I'm sorry I've taken more than ages to reply. But now I'm back. And I'm here to stay :)

I just started a new book yesterday. A Prisoner of Birth by Jeffrey Archer. I've gotten through a hundred pages or so. And it's great so far :) Till now, it's been all about a court case. A detailed version of that. And how this person gets sent to jail for a crime he did not commits.

    See you around :)

Lately we've been playing a game we like to call "Pick-A-Band", voting for new group avatars each week, chattin' about our favorite music videos, adding songs to our group playlist on Playlist.com, and speaking of the latest album releases. Come join our fabulous discussions, hope you like music.

    Much thanks,

Yup, I'm still here xD. I was Shelfari MIA for a while, I just kept forgetting to check here. Yeah, I can't wait until Spring Break, I'm in real need of some time off. Currently, the computer that I use most needs a new video card but they are quite expensive so I might have to wait a while before I am able to see stuff on my monitor again. Well, take care.

    -Ty

P.S. I'm finishing up The Hobbit at the moment and will be starting the first Lord of the Rings book soon. Hope you are reading a good book right now; good luck with the book club!

Nice to hear from you, Tara. I was going to write you recently, but I lazily never got around to it. Yes, I like to keep my reading eclectic. I am reading "Memoirs of a Geisha" by Arthur Golden right now- it is quite good. I recently read two books by Neil Gaiman that I really liked, too- "Stardust" and "American Gods". He is a very imaginative writer. I am the administrator of the 80's Group now, too- and I am always looking for ideas.

It is cool here, but not cold- 50's most days. It is supposed to rain all day tomorrow- so it sounds like a good day to read! Talk to you soon. Jason

Wow, I am jealous!!! I absolutely love the Killers. Their new CD is fabulous. I bought it the first day... hehe :) That sounds like so much. I can't imagine a concert that would e more energetic. I looked up the video on youtube...... amazing. They are so talented. Brandi Carlile!!! She is definitely my favorite musician. I went to her concert this summer. It was brilliant. I am eagerly awaiting the next time she comes to Minnesota. You have the best music taste! All of the artists you listed are all so great. Shelfari is so much fun, talk to you soon. :)

I just posted a note on Sara's profile for two books (that I ref. last night) One I own, if you are interested in reading.

Yes, Mary and I was talking a bit more this am at the breakfast, interesting biblical stuff about Shadrack and jumping into fire she found after she got home...so true about book clubs..I would never have been able to lay this one to rest if not able to discuss with Broads! Very many layers I would have never found my way!

So glad you are a part of the group-much value lady!
