Happy Attitude of Gratitude Day
Thanks! My emailaddress is mlaehr@aol.com.....what's yours? At a funeral last year the priest said something I wish I had used in class...."Take a few minutes to collect your thoughts..."
Hi Mary....the bullying lesson is included in Stephanie Harvey and Harvey's book. Had a phone call from the Pulitzer people last week....and Oprah...
Hi Mary, hope u r enjoying "This I Believe". I'd like to see a version of the book which is written only by educators.....maybe we should all write our own essay....I think mine would begin with, "I believe in the importance of words..."
Hi Mary,I am currently reading "the Good War" by Studs Terkel....skimmed a rather boring book called "Get Off Your 'But' ".....kind of a motivational book...but I wasn't motivated enough to read all of it...written by a man who is height challenged..thinks he is Tony Robbins...
Hi Mary, I have tried several times to get myself onto Shelfari, but was unsuccessful...fyi..I am into Bill Bryson right now.."A short History of Nearly Everything"
A rhythym of life......sounds like a great title for a book.....it already is a great song from the musical Sweet Charity....Here's an interesting book: The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid by Bill Bryson. It's about being a kid in the fifties....somehow we survived our own studpidity...and our government's. Your "rhythym of life" comment reminds me also of the opening song to"Work"....'I hear America Singing..." Here' an interesting web site...google "The Writer's Almanac" to get a bit of Prairie Home Companion. Take care,Mike
