Happy New Year! Anything Alan an Michael write is intriguing. he book Allan and I are writing is a design book for churches. It works inside out.... Takes components such as self, team, culture, your ecclesiology, and practical considerations- lines them up so that model flows from these. We present a variety of approaches but demand alignment. Last chapter says that this is one way of designing, but not the only way- then considers the possibility of designing as living systems. (which is beyond organic)

I have heard Alan speak on this several times, so not new for me. In some ways, a follow up on the central message of Forgotten Ways (Jesus Christ is Lord). Logical next step is (Who is this Jesus?) It is in some ways a peacemaking book that transcends "type of Church" wars... in some ways a corrective to the fuzzy set thinking of some Emergent groups, and in some ways utterly lambasts the views of Jesus we hold...not many could write this book. It is an attempt to get the DNA right. Who wants to be missional around bad Jesus DNA- so I agree with you about the incomplete (and also incorrect) Christology. I love both these authors too. Hirsch is writing the preview for the book I am writing with Allan Karr.
