What happens when a Greek (only by ancestor) looks for a wife, but of course she also has to be Greek. The answer to the advertisement seems to be the solution to the problem. The "Greek" finds the ideal woman. Known by all, popular and very attractive, but there are problems. A book perhaps not typical for Dürrenmat but amusing.

Thomas Mann really captured the atomosphere and life of the rise and fall of a German wealthy family in the 19th century. Their day-to-day life and the advantages and disadvantages of being rich coupled with their duties in the society they lived in. Not just a family saga, but a book with depth.

A surprising book. How a Jewish family survives world war 2 living in Frankfurt. A true story and one that gave me food for thought. Not everyone was as bad as you are lead to think and this family met the exceptions throughout the war.

I enjoyed this short story very much - it proves if you are different then at first you might be pitied, but eventually people are just glad when you disappear from the landscape
